Parent Consultation
Guidance, Clarity, and Support When You Need It Most
As a parent, it’s completely natural to have questions, uncertainties, or concerns about your child’s communication development. Sometimes, you may not be sure whether your child needs an assessment, therapy, or simply time to grow — and that’s where a Parent Consultation can help.
A consultation provides space to ask questions, share observations, and receive professional insight in a calm, supportive environment. Our goal is to help you make informed decisions with confidence.

When Is a Parent Consultation Helpful?
You may consider booking a consultation if you:
- Would like a professional opinion on your child’s communication development
- Are unsure whether an assessment or therapy is needed
- Want guidance on next steps or available support options
- Need help understanding or accessing local or specialized services
- Wish to explore funding options or eligibility pathways
- Feel confused, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin
Sometimes, just talking through your concerns with a qualified professional can provide clarity and relief.
What You Can Expect
During the consultation, we will:
- Listen to your concerns and observations
- Discuss developmental expectations and milestones
- Review any relevant background or reports (if available)
- Provide clear recommendations based on your child’s needs
- Share practical tips or strategies you can begin using at home
- Guide you on next steps, services, or referrals if needed

No special preparation is required. However, if you have previous reports, school notes, or medical information, you may share them. Most importantly, bring your questions and observations — your insight as a parent is valuable.
Will my child need to attend the consultation?
Not necessarily. Parent consultations are primarily for discussion, guidance, and planning. If the therapist needs to see your child afterward, we will schedule an assessment separately.
What if I’m not sure whether my concerns are valid?
It’s completely normal to feel unsure. Many parents reach out simply because something doesn’t feel right. A consultation can help you understand whether development is typical or if early support would be beneficial.
Will I get recommendations after the consultation?
Yes. You will receive clear guidance on next steps, therapy recommendations (if needed), available support options, and practical strategies you can begin using at home right away.
What happens after the consultation?
Depending on the outcome, we may recommend an assessment, therapy sessions, monitoring, home-based strategies, or referrals to other professionals. The decision is made collaboratively, based on your child’s needs and your comfort level.
